It's not that it wasn't used in WWII, but that it ceased to be the official standard infantry rifle(what was asked), as it was replaced by the Garand. The site you linked to clearly says that too.

That's what I said, by "main" I meant "standard", sorry if you misunderstood me. As I said, I don't care if FLAME get's the question, I was just clarifying myself. -Stormy

| Is this question so hard people?! Okay, here is another one: (if one can answer the above question, that would be great as well ) What is the difference between an M1A1 Thompson and the Thompson in this picture? http://www.12pulkulanow.com/main_folder/Ft.Campbell2009/33.1.jpg | |

| E2's had a longer barrel and forward assist, could use a grenade launcher, and chambers were chrome plated?
And I'd say fire selector switches are different type/style of switch than originals. Blank firing repop, perhaps? Or a modified/rebuilt original.

| Yup, the fire selector switches seem to be from an M1928/A1; as to the XM177 Question; both seem to have forward assists, and a neat little fact I found out is that neither of them had bayonet lugs. You're up | |

| What are the first three steps to field-stripping an M1 Garand (after clearing the breach and returning the bolt)? | |

| You swing the trigger guard down, then you pull the trigger group out of the action, then pull the action out of the stock.
