| ZOMG, you guys, get off your butts and go see it now! I need to see it again because I didn't quite catch the meaning of some of the elements in the movie. I might post a few thoughts later. | |

| Warning: MAJOR SPOILERS! - Spoiler:
I'm still not sure what it means. Is Batman quitting, or just won't be putting himself out in open as much anymore? Also, I can't figure out why the people of Gotham wanted Batman gone. In some ways, I can see how a sequel can be, but in others, it just seems so hopeless. I mean, what would it be without Rachael or L. Fox? And how could this movie be topped? I thought the best part was the whole truck chase! "He missed!" *snap snap snap* BOOM!

| I just got back from it around an hour ago. I thought it was amazing. I barely even realized that it was over 2 hours long, it just flew by.
The Joker = absolutely perfect. Creepiest villain I have ever seen. One of the best performances I've seen in a while. I couldn't help but laugh at how sick and twisted he was. He had me grinning every time.
I thought this movie was much better than Batman Begins, probably because I hated that movie. All of the actors were great and the story was awesome. I need to see it again 1. To pick up what I missed the first time and 2. Because it was just that awesome. Definately buying it when it comes out.

| Yeah, I had no idea it was over two hours long until afterwards when they were talking about it on the news.
And yeah, I'm going to have to find a friend I can go with to see it again.

| I just saw it 30 minutes ago. All I can say is...It was amazing. Joker was such a fantastic character, I really don't think they could have picked a better actor. I really wish they could have made another sequel with him. Ledger's performance was outstanding, he's up there with Indiana Jones and Han Solo for Character-That-I-Wish-I-Could-Be...Even though he's a psycho bad guy. But I share your concern, J, with the quitting/not quitting thing...I read somewhere that Bale didn't want to do another Batman movie, because he was claustrophobic and didn't like being in the suit...But maybe I read wrong, or the production teams would be able to come up with a suit that didnt make him feel like so. I dunno. It was just a fantastic movie, I am definitely buying it when it comes to DVD. I'm going to see it again in IMAX next week with some more friends - I can't wait!!! | |

| It would be mega-stupeedo of Warner Brothers to not milk the Batman franchise dry when the latest is breaking box office records right and left.
And was better the second time.

| I just read that Christian Bale, and 3 other actors were contracted for 3 movies, and that Heath Ledger got through half of the filming of the third movie, then he passed away. I'm not sure how much of the second part is true, but I've read from several sources that the contract was for 3 movies - so woo-hoo!! EDIT: - Quote :
- Oldman and Nolan confirmed the next Batman villain would be The Riddler, last played by Jim Carrey in Batman Forever. Asked whether they would recast the role of the Joker due to the sad passing of actor Heath Ledger Oldman expressed his great appreciation for Ledger's portrayal, and said, "Maybe we don't need the Joker. Because we'll have The Riddler."

| If the thing about Ledger is true, then I guess some kind of sudden script re-writing will be necessary. IMDB rumors about the villains Johnny Depp would make a great Riddler, since his characters are always on the strange and mysterious side, but Angelina Jolie as Catwoman? Gosh, who'd of guessed that? EDIT: Oh... Never mind about the first paragraph. But still, correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the Catwoman movie a huge bomb? | |

| I don't think Nolan would ever do that Penguin. Too...out there. I think Johnny Depp would make a great Riddler - but PLEASE NO CATWOMAN. I never even saw the Halle Berry movie...Looked too stupid. Unless Nolan can somehow use his magic and a miracle, I don't think Catwoman would work and it would continue along the lines of the "3rd movie curse" that we've been kinda seeing lately. | |

I agree, but I imagine Catwoman would be believed by some people as necessary now that Rachel is dead. But it would be a terrible replacement as Catwoman is more of a symbol of lust than romance, as Rachel was.

| - Spoiler:
Batman didn't quit, he chose to take the blame and be on the run. Gordon's final speech did a lot to explain what was going to happen next. I think, essentially, Batman will continue to help Gotham, but will have to deal with the police being after him. Gordon knows they won't catch him, but has to support the idea that he's a criminal. He's not a hero, but he is what the city needs.
BTW, the flipping of the semi was awesome, but the crushing of the garbage truck was even better.

I loved the flipping of the Semi! I also liked when Fox was talking to the guy about the tumber, "So you're going to blackmail Bruce Wayne, the Millionaire (spe?)."
When I saw that part, the whole crowd started laughing there heads off!
Spoiler select text to read: The only think I didn't like, was Two-face died. I thought that it would have been great if he was into the 3rd one.

| Spoiler! But see, Elffy, there's no real proof that TwoFace actually died. In fact, there are several subtle hints throughout the movie that hint to him being alive, such as someone who survives a similar fall, TwoFace's coin landing, unscarred side up after he dropped it, and the fact that the funeral was for Harvey Dent - No mention of his revenge or evil side. They said that "Harvey Dent was dead", possibly meaning something like Ben Kenobi in Star Wars. | |
