| SPOILERS, DONT READ THIS THREAD IF YOU DON'T WANT THEM.
Hey, I get that all of the Indiana Jones movies have conspiracies and paranormal activity and whatnot, but Aliens and flying saucers? Give me a break.

I don't get how it's any worse than the Ark of the Covenant, the Holy Grail, or someone ripping peoples hearts out of their chest before lowering them (still somehow alive) into a pit of lava (causing the heart to burn as well). It's all madness, why stop at aliens

| I actually thought it went rather well with it.
I've only seen bits and parts of the Temple of Doom, but for all the others, the quest circles around something that no one really knows for sure doesn't exist. Aliens, the Holy Grail, the Ark of the Covenant; do you know for sure they don't exist? *que eerie music*

| Yes, but look at that list: Holy Grail, Ark of the Covenant, Aliens.
2 of which are popular religious myths and the third is something a drunk southerner thinks he sees when a satellite orbits past.
Could they really not think of something a little more "epic" than extra terrestrials?

| Well, I'll take the one that they used: El Dorado. I think the entire plot could have revolved around discovering said place, rather than finding a Flying Saucer in it's wake, and having to deal with an absurdly inconsistently magnetic Alien skull... | |

| I have to kinda agree on both sides - I think that the subject matter for the time period is fine, but just doesn't fit within the list of artifacts Indy has gone after in the past.
If I could have made changes to the movie's ending, I would've had the thirteen skeletons stay as is, but still unlock the "infinite knowledge" for Spalko, and have the information coming from around the circle instead of one point, to make it look more massive. Bigger head explosion, with guts and gore. Temple starts falling apart, Indy and crew run out same way. They get out, and everything gets sucked into the middle, not into the spaceship, but maybe some form of spontaneous, quick black hole. Then no spaceship, no talk about "space in between space" and no marriage...Just them driving or walking into the sunset, like Last Crusade.
Now, if I was able to rearrange the whole subject matter of the movie, I would have them search for the Spear of Destiny - The spear that allegedly pierced the side of Christ after he died on the cross. Same Commies going after it, but it would have better connections to the religious artifacts-theme, and would also have a tie-in to Indy's former enemies, the Nazis (Nazis were rumored to have found the Spear of Destiny).
Oh, and I would've forced Sean Connery to come back from retirement.

| YEah, I think I could live with the Alien plot if those 15 skeletons didn't form into an alive Alien and if there was no hidden flying saucer... | |

Yeah, I mean, an all-powerful object that can't do anything when it's just covered by a cloth bag? I also didn't like the UFO. I'd like Adry's ending better.

| I just thought it was kinda bad because of the aliens. I mean that was kinda random, don't you think? | |

| I still maintain that Aliens are no worse than The Grail or the Ark of the Covenant. But w/e... | |

| I still like the 3rd one the most. Because I like Jrs. dad....who likes to sit down. I also really like Marcus, "Does any body here speak English or Antient Greek?" "No, I don't want your chicken..." | |
