To keep the C-box from overflowing from messages pertaining Airsoft, I shall creat this thread.

Anyways check this out, it's a better way of doing a bolt mod to your Thompson.

That would be a cool mod to do on my M16 bolt but it would be pointless since every time it would blowback it would reveil my hop-up.

So, do you guys have any plans on future guns?

Here's mine:
Echo1 G3 SG1
Jing Gong MP5SD5 (mainly for parts)
Classic Army G36K

What it looks like I'll be getting for my B-day is...
A used ICS MP5A5, rewired to the back, needs a new fuse wiring (Those are about $12, but the guy droped the price to compasate for it) $130 shipped, with Systema gears installed!!!
Comes with battery, no charger, 2 mags, and a scope mount.
I then plan to get a new fuse, a box set of MAG 90 MP5 mags, and a MP5 Tac-vest.

!!!! Bad new going down in my state:

Apparently, TN state legislature is looking at passing a law that will directly impact our hobby, sport, game, or whatever you want to call Airsoft. The following is an excerpt from a news paper story.

"Tennessee lawmakers are considering a proposal by state Rep. John Deberry to make it a misdemeanor to intentionally display or expose "an imitation firearm in a public place in a threatening manner." Exceptions include justifiable self defense, lawful hunting, and displays such as a museum collection.

Deberry said he wants to prevent incidents like one last year in which a 12-year-old boy was killed in West Memphis, Ark. DeAunta Farrow was shot by a police officer who said he thought the boy was carrying a gun and that the youngster refused to obey orders to halt. Investigators later said DeAunta had a toy gun.

"It's important that a child cannot walk into one of these little convenience stores, plop down a dollar and walk out with something that can get him shot on the spot without question," Deberry said.

A spokeswoman for the Toy Industry Association declined to comment on the trend toward fake gun legislation but referred a reporter to its Web site, which states that it "emphatically rejects the scenario that casts toys as villains."

Federal law requires toy guns or imitations to bear an orange tip to indicate they're not real.

However, lawmakers say those tips are often disguised or removed.

"It only takes 30 seconds for a kid to either take a marker or some paint, or shoe polish, and that orange tip is gone," said Deberry. He said the imitation guns are nearly identical in size, design and color to real ones.

"One of the imitation weapons I got at a convenience store looked very much like the assault weapons that the secret service and other FBI agents carry under their suits," he said. "Another one was a handgun that had a silencer on it."

New Jersey state Sen. Bob Smith has proposed legislation that would make it a crime to remove the tips or "obscure" a firearm by adding a tip to it.

"If police are called to the scene and don't see those tips, then they open fire because it appears the person has a deadly weapon," said Smith. "The officer doesn't have too many choices."

In Florida, state Sen. Gary Siplin has a bill that would prohibit individuals from carrying a paintball gun in a vehicle. He said he had been told about youngsters brandishing such guns while driving. He said if they're bold enough to do that they might use the fake weapon to commit a crime.

"Sometime these people try to go into a store and try to rob it with a toy gun, and if the police come they may shoot thinking it's a real gun," Siplin said.

The leading U.S. opponent of gun control doesn't think much of legislation that seeks to control fake guns.

National Rifle Association spokesman Ashley Varner said anti-toy gun legislation is "silly" because "it doesn't deal with issues of crime."

"It won't eradicate the human element of the crime," she said. "It doesn't target getting criminals off the street.""

A 12-year-old kid should know that they're down-on-their-knees begging for a butt-load of trouble when they start swinging around a fake gun without the orange tip.
I believe the New Jersey senator was on track with the law against removing or concealing the orange tip at all.

Yeah, most Airsofters take the orange tip off when they play, but that's because they play in sactioned fields.
But my theory is, what are they going to see first? me? (I'm almost 5"10) or the 1\4 of orange on the tip of my gun?

Maybe they already are, but they should be only legal in Airsoft fields and on your own property.

Notice I said "respecable".

Anyways, I have a friend who just got a ICS M4, It's nice!
Full metal, and with their M4 split gearbox design, the upper gearbox slides out like the bolt group on a real M4.

One thing I like about ICS M4's is that the forward assist actually has a purpose. I like how it realeases the spring.

Yeah, If the MP5 sale falls through, I'll just save up for one of those, I would perfer a M16, as all the battling I do is Wood-land, but that doesn't come with the RIS.

I plan on getting this and mounting this on my M16 A2.

Sure I'll need to buy a couple of shell, but in the long run it'll be worth it.

I believe that the ICS stock is a 3 position.

Also, I was wondering, is the cocking handle on the ECHO plastic?

It's metal, though I highly recommend you don't slap the bolt without modification. If you want to I can show you a mod that will allow you to slap the bolt as much as you want without damaging it.

Does anyone have any good suggestions for a sidearm?

I'm not sure what type I want, as far as spring, electric, gas stuff, but I want something that's good quality but not taking a chunk out of my wallet.

Gas pistols cost some $$$, I have a spring .45, I like it, and you can cock it pretty quickly. If you want a sidearm that doesnt cost a load of money, get a springer, but make sure you don't get one from your local Wal-Mart, get one online, and make sure you do some reasearch on it first.

Gas pistol's cost lots of money, and you have to buy gas and ammo for them too. Springer you just have to buy the gun and the ammo.

Right, thanks Sgt, but I kinda know all of that. Wink

I was looking to see if anyone had suggestions of specific guns, like, "Hey, try the Colt .45 from UHC" or w/e.

Another thing on Gas guns, they are USELESS in the cold.
I believe the UHC guns are pretty good, but like FLAME said, do so research first.

That one looks pretty good.
I think this one looks pretty good, and if it really does have metal internals, I think it would be a pretty good deal.
